Employability of graduates

In the Slovak Republic, each enterprise (but also a non-business organization) must have accounting, while more than 5 000 companies are being outsourced. Our graduates were the governor of the National Bank, several presidents of the Slovak Chamber of Auditors or the Slovak Chamber of Certified accountants or top managers of national but also international enterprises-because there is nothing better for economic governance than the ability to read the accounting statements.

From the history of the department

The history dates back to the establishment of the University of Business (VŠO, the current University of Economics in Bratislava) in 1940, while having a significant share in the establishment Prof. Vladimír Králiček. After various organizational changes, it was established in 1952 independent Department of Financial Records, which was later transformed into the Department of Accounting and even later into the Department of Accounting and Auditing. The teachers of the department stood at the birth of the most important institutions associating accountants and auditors, both the Slovak Chamber of Auditors and the Slovak Chamber of Certified Accountants. At present, the department profiles itself as a workplace focused not only on teaching general aspects of accounting, but also those areas that are unique at the Slovak level.

Cooperation

A non-negligible place in the work of the department has cooperation with accounting, auditing and consulting companies, institutions from the public and state sector and professional organizations. Every year we are pleased to host the lectures of dozens of them.
