The Slovak Society for Operational Research was founded in 1993 after splitting up of Czechoslovak Society for Operational Research into the Slovak and Czech Society.
The Society continues in its predecessor's activities, which are:
- organizing international scientific conferences (overview of the textbooks from 2000 onwards),
- co-issuing of a major scientific journal of the Central European Journal of Operations Research,
- cooperation with partner organizations.
